Baytown Texas Two Step

A breakdown isn’t fun. Never is. But if you let these things take you down… something that’s part of the job can become misery. Hence… we do our best to not let the tail wag the dog (so to speak).

We are broke down in Carlisle, PA. It has been 11 days now and being owner/op’s it is very discouraging to spend all this money while not making any.

    • Hi Zena Sue Biggs…
I do hear you. We’re not O&O but working that way and looking for a truck et al. A situation like this (here in Baytown) is something that gets our attention about how long shops can take to do something fairly straight-forward. But ALSO… how paying attention to things — like for example — the fact our truck had to be put on a charger when they replaced the DPF system, that “hey, something might be wrong with that, let’s have a quick look!” instead of ignoring it and that can make a difference. We’re 10 days into this. Certainly, this affects our bottom line as well in a major way.

I have learned that getting upset doesn’t change a thing. It just makes me miserable. That’s not what I want. We’ve been talking about putting a site or app together that would let drivers know which shops suck (pardon my candor) and which ones have excellent customer service and get you rolling quickly. There’s a shop in Salt Lake City that we loooooove. They’re awesome. But break downs down always happen there do they!

My heart goes out to you guys. I hope you get rolling quickly — but also remember that things can balance out too throughout the year. It’s hard to remember that sometimes myself… – Andrea
