I pulled out of a Nebraska Rest Area this evening. As I came around the corner, heading for the freeway I had to stop.
The moon came into view as I rounded the corner.
Huge and low on the horizon.
A colossal golden presence greeted me… the moon …hovering over the landscape like a quiet guardian. It was magical.
You cannot imagine how much I ached to have a camera at hand, capable of capturing that image.
For now, it was for my eyes alone… and of course millions of other people up at that hour and paying attention to the sky!
But Jai slept through it.
I did find a creative commons image that comes pretty darn close to include at the head of this post.
In any case. It was a lovely drive day. I stopped for a quick snack in Wyoming and rebounded. Stopped in Nebraska for dinner and some fuel.
Stopped right now in Cozad, Nebraska (yes there is such a place!) to switch for the evening.
Jai begins his journey from here on out… and I think I’m going to grab an episode of “The Arrow” before turning it in for the night.
Yes, I’m an Arrow fan. For quite awhile now. Enjoy your escapades Oliver!
The new season is out and Amazon Prime is doing it’s thing to bring me episodes all across the country. Amazon and Verizon Wireless that is. 🙂
Have a great night! See you on the next Log Day…
