Todays Trip: 895 miles.
Today I woke up in Laredo…
Jai drove into Laredo this morning at 6am.
When I woke at 11:40am local time, clean, fresh laundry — which I had been dreaming about — wasn’t anywhere to be found.
With no clothes left, I pulled on a pair of yoga pants and looked on Google Maps to find a laundromat. We ended up at “Wishy Washy” on Mines Rd., just down from the Con-Way Laredo Terminal.
By the time we got all the machines loaded… that’s when we discovered we didn’t have enough quarters to finish it – and the laundry lady was closed for lunch.
I headed for Popeyes to the south. 8 quarters was all they could spare.
I headed for Subway after that. 8 quarters was all they could spare.
As it turned out, we had just enough to finish the laundry and get back to the terminal where our load had come in.
After laundry, a shower, a truck bath, fueling and rolling over the scales we were finally off to Memphis, Tennessee, where this load is going.
Good Lord! It felt like we’d never get rolling today LOL
By 14:23 (2:23pm) we were on our way.
I did manage a respectable 432 miles before turning over the wheel to my co-driver and husband… not too bad.
Now, I’m lounging in the bunk writing this. It’s raining. Jai gets the rainy part of this trip… and the dock in the morning at 10:00am. After that? Don’t know… we have not received a pre-plan.
I must however, try to get the video about “training” edited. It’s a Q&A for Maggie.
“I’m coming Maggie!”
