Log: Day 376

The view from our hotel room in Salt Lake City, UT

Today is shaping up to be a Ā beautiful weather day.

The snow has melted here in Salt Lake City… it’s currently 68 degrees… the truck is fixed, Yay! …and we’re waiting for a load.

That’s why I have a moment to start today’s Log post.

Last night I had a nice meal at Cracker Barrel… the “4 Southern Vegetable Plate”, dumplings, fried okra, turnip greens and pinto beans.

With the video camera in hand, I had to do a review of the food LOL. You can find that video *click here*.

My Mom could blow everything on my plate away… but that’s because she’s got southern cooking in her blood! Actually, she has learned a lot about food combining too and has begun cooking differently the last couple years. Kudos Mom! But her food is always delicious. She’s a perfectionist.

Two pieces of Apple Pie later, I was off to the hotel room to check on my sleeping co-driver-husband-person. He was awake.

This often happens when our schedule gets disrupted with a truck repair. One or the other of us is due to be asleep about the time they take the truck into the shop and kick us out. It genuinely sucks. šŸ™‚

However, Jai did manage to get his beauty rest the last couple of days. And I did too. For the most part. I feel ready to go though… ready to be behind the wheel tickin’ off some miles! (where’s that trailer?)

I ducked back into the hotel and filled my little Bubba Ice Bucket. The hotel has theĀ best ice! I’m so ridiculous hehe. I do like nice ice and not too many places have it. Ice needs to be cold. Ice that’s not cold enough is just clumpy water.

More tonight…

Just got the assignment. Off to Idaho, then to Arkansas.

Obviously we had a little time to take care of a few shopping chores… and there is a nice Whole Foods market close by.

We tooled over to the Whole Foods Market in Trolley Square. Nice store. Picked up a few things like Teaccino (Andrea’s favorite hot tea), along with some chicken and a few other goodies for the freezer.

The best part of getting to visit a Whole Foods is “Seeduction Bread”. The most amazing bread. Tonight, the baker didn’t have any — however, he said if you can wait 15 minutes, I’m just about to bake some. Can you wait?

Can I wait?

Are you kidding?

Of course I can wait!

Fresh Seeduction Bread is like heaven on a plate. It’s s0-0-0-0 good. Ridiculous actually. One of the few breads that actually gets my attention.

I went to do the rest of my shopping then headed back to the bakery in anticipation of the fresh goodness. The baker met me at the counter, smiled and said, “Can I help you?”

“Yes, I’m waiting for the fresh bread?”

He said, “Oh, I’m sorry. I sold it.”

I looked at him a second, broke into a smile and said, “No, you didn’t.”

Of course he didn’t! He handed me the bag with the hot bread and we had a good laugh.

Posted replies to commentary on the blog after shopping and putting everything away first of course (got to be ready to boogey as needed) and here I am… about to lay it down for the night.

I’m pooped. A good pooped.

Totally enjoyed the shopping outing. We’re in a cute part of town in SLC. Of course we’re bobtail so it’s easy to find a parking spot.

Since we had a nice little parking spot on a side street, I decided to hang out until the pre-plan came in. Had a feeling it would be the wee hours.

Alright darling dears. It’s time for sleep. Rock-a-bye-baby.

Until…
Andrea
