The Science of Getting Rich

Hello to ALL my wonderful TRUCKING FAMILY!

I’m so glad you took a moment to drop in today and read this post. There’s a reason I’m happy about it. Let me tell you why.

Driving a large mammoth (read “truck”) all over the country, gives you time to think… to consider… to contemplate your life, your history, your potential… your mistakes and failures and IF YOU’RE SMART and use that time wisely… to learn about and really get to know the most important person you’ll ever come across in your time here on planet earth …you.

Now, you don’t have to drive a truck to do that. But since I do, I’m going to come from that perspective. You can still take this challenge with me regardless if you drive a truck or not. So, please don’t be shy. If you’re a subscriber here then you’re a truckin-family-member, and there are no holds barred. 🙂

Of all the little gifts that have come from this rather whirlwind adventure in my life, of driving a truck 5,000 plus miles every week, it is the opportunity to go inward to investigate, learn and grow. Real growth in life happens inside first, then manifests outwardly. Not the other way around.

Below you’ll find a link to a FREE PDF file you can download. The book was written in 1910 by Wallace D. Wattles.

I read part of this book quite awhile ago and have the sense that now is the time for me to read it all the way through.

Today, I downloaded the book — and put it on my Audible List — and intend to read/listen to it, all the way through at least once (at the very least).

I invite you to join me!

Take the challenge of reading the book “The Science of Getting Rich” — or of listening to it.

You can find several versions of it on www.audible.com (pick the narrator you like the most!) — OR — you might want to load it up on YouTube and listen there. Just search the title “The Science of Getting Rich” and you’ll find many versions to choose from.

Why am I inviting you to read/listen to this book with me?

Because I think it would be amazing to discuss it right here on this post. Even if only one person decides to join me and comes here to write their thoughts about it, I would consider that a success. 🙂

I’m interested to see if this book holds valuable nuggets of insight… or not!

So, once again, the book is called “The Science of Getting Rich” by Wallace D. Wattles.

The link to download this book is: https://www.free-ebooks.net/ebook/The-Science-of-Getting-Rich

If you would rather listen to it, you can find it at http://www.audible.com for $1.95. Or, choose from any of the narrators and pick the one you like best.

If you’re going to take this challenge, post a comment below and let me know. I look forward to sharing this little journey with you!

– Andrea

  3. Where the NJ and NY tolls the most expensive you ever experienced in trucking ?

    • Hi Rob,

We have been over the George Washington bridge once I think. In NJ, we haven’t done the most expensive bridges… just a quick in and out at the edges mostly… we have a particular customer there. We’ve each done that one a few times, then it’s usually upstate NY. Where in NY are you? In the city? – Andrea

    Andrea,

I very, very rarely comment on posts…of any kind, whether these be blog entries on personal websites or YouTube videos. In the last 10 years, I believe I’ve posted a comment only about 4 times. This comment here would be about the 5th one. Why? Because you inspire me. Plain and simple.

I first came across your videos about three days ago when I searched YouTube for husband-and-wife truck-driving teams. I’ve been thinking, lately, of adopting this lifestyle. No serious plans, yet, to do anything around that, but the inspiration to do it has definitely taken hold in me. Jai is lucky to have a wonderful life partner like you to do it with. Just before writing this comment, it suddenly occurred to me that I should post a profile on a dating site and suggest truck-driving as a team as one of the things we could do together as a couple, once I met the woman I see a future with. I’m big on emotional intimacy when I’m in a relationship, and there’s no doubt in my mind that this lifestyle would be conducive to attaining high levels of it.

About The Science of Getting Rich. Isn’t it one of the most wonderful books you’ve ever come across? I first heard about it by listening to an audio recording I obtained at the public library in my home town of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, about eight years ago. It was an audio book in which an author mentioned the various books that had a major positive impact on his life over the years. And this one by Wallace D. Wattles came up. Intrigued, I obtained a copy of it, read it in its entirety and have since re-visited it occasionally by downloading it in a pdf format. I believe that even in a hundred years from now, Wallace D. Wattles’ views will still resonate as truth in the readers’ mind, or heart, like very few other works on the subject ever could! So that’s my comment on the book.

As for your videos made by you and Jai, they’re so beautiful. The life you have together inspires many people I’m sure, not just me. There’s something angelic about you, Andrea, and I believe that the love you have in your heart for anyone who will come across those videos made by Jai and you is felt by most. I know that it grabbed me from the first instant I heard you speak. Thank you for putting your heart in these, for trying to make every moment, even every sentence while you’re speaking on camera, something that represents your very best. I believe many others pick up on this about you, not just me.

A word to Jai: I congratulate you on having the courage to live this life, this very intimate life with your wife, by choosing to be with her 24 hours/day. She’s a beautiful and charming lady, no doubt about it, but still, your decision as a man to live this life of intimacy with your spouse is something that a lot of men would not have the courage to do. Because, though it yields great dividends, intimacy isn’t always easy. It comes easier to women, not so much to men. So I admire you for it, and I thank you for being an example to the rest of us men that a life-partner relationship can be beautiful if one is willing to commit to it. Certainly, the fact that you’re a husband-and-wife team as truck drivers, living together in such a small space 24 hours a day when you’re gone for weeks at a time, entails a much greater commitment on your part to your marriage than a lot of men would have the courage to make. I just had to tell you that.

Back to you, Andrea. What a contribution you’re making to all of us through the content of your videos. Thank you for that.

I’ll probably comment again at some point in the future on another one of your posted items, but I was so inspired by both of you that I simply had to write something.

Thanks again to both you and Jai for sharing your lives with us and enriching us in the process!
