Tire Blowout #3

This one was one the trailer… on I-10. Third one in just less than five weeks.

It was a HOT! summer… thankful that each time, we landed safely.

In this case however, the rim and the trailer DOT bumper was damaged. Have a look at the footage in this video to see what a blowout can do.

Keep your shiny side up!

  1. 3 blown tires in less than 12 months. Are you guys checking your tires correctly when you do your circle check every day before you go? When you hit them you should be hearing the sound or properly inflated tires and visually inspecting for anything that could cause problems. I am glad you have been able to navigate to safety but blow outs aren’t supposed to be this common. And I’ve been traveling otr with my husband ( who has 20+ years otr) since just before you guys started driving and we haven’t had any blow out. We had one tire starting to go soft and because of the company not wanting us to get serviced at where we were for the night he bought a filler hose that connects to the glad hands and he was able to top up the tire so he could drive over to the approved fix location. For the 60$ I think it cost it’s saved him time and money since buying it. You might want to invest in one and get info on what to do to avoid blow outs.
